As usual, here with a quick update!
The end of June has come and gone, but I’m still working on getting The Broken Light (A01) and The Cold Caverns (C01) ready for printing. A01 is very nearly entirely done (it just needs a map, which I’m considering hiring an artist to complete) and C01 is still being written, and will, of course, need a map too – so if you have any suggestions for artists, I’m all ears!
The good news is that the near-final versions of the fantasy core documents – rules & monsters – have been published over at the downloads page, and the core engine document is soon to be released. Give those a look over, if you like, and let me know if anything jumps out at you as needing correcting. These documents together reflect the final style of the system, in terms of format, template, typeset, etc. So, I know I’ve said it before, but I mean it this time: Little – if anything at all – will change in those core documents from here on out.
Lastly, as a sort of “show of progress”, here’s the map I’ve worked up for C01.
As you can see, it’s quite unconventional as far as maps I’ve made in the past go; but for a good reason, naturally… a reason which will be revealed with the adventure itself! I expect to be ready to play-test this weekend.
Also, I’d be interested in your opinions on the map design. If you’d prefer that I gave up the artistic side of TD10 and handed the reigns over to a professional, say so – otherwise, you may end up doomed to my art and design in your printed version!
In the meantime, I’m also working on the TD10 wiki, so if you feel like contributing, I absolutely welcome your content! Currently, there’s only a section for fantasy, but I intend to create sections for other user contributed content (sci-fi, Lovecraftian, etc.) too, as well as including resources (random generators, game mastering tools, etc.).
